Revolutionizing Automated CPR in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory with the Revival Ranger
The Revival Ranger: A novel CPR system for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Our design features two legs with wheel attachments, four linear actuators (two on each leg), a backboard, and a chestboard. When turned on the four linear actuators create compressive force, and due to their unique placement, do not interfere with X-ray machine.
Project Description:
Our project addresses a pressing clinical need for a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) device specifically designed for the catheterization lab (Cat Lab) setting. Current CPR devices are not optimized for this environment, where cardiac procedures and resuscitation efforts often occur simultaneously. This lack of optimization can lead to challenges in delivering effective compressions while avoiding interference with ongoing procedures, particularly those involving catheter tubes inserted through the radial artery. Additionally, the need for uninterrupted visualization during CPR necessitates that the device be radiolucent.
Our device aims to overcome these challenges by providing a solution that delivers effective compressions without hindering ongoing procedures in the Cat Lab. It is designed to allow for easy setup without the need to move the patient, ensuring continuity of care. The radiolucent nature of the device enables uninterrupted visualization during CPR, essential for ensuring the safety and efficacy of procedures in the Cat Lab.
By addressing these specific challenges, our CPR device has the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes in the Cat Lab setting. It offers healthcare providers a tool that is tailored to their unique needs, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of resuscitation efforts in this critical care environment.
