Cold Atmospheric Plasma for Chronic Wound Treatment

Hand-held cold atmospheric plasma generating device

Project Description:

Development of a non-thermal cold plasma therapy device to enhance healing of chronic, non-healing wounds (e.g., diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries). The device employs an air-fed dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) source to deliver reactive oxygen and nitrogen species that reduce bioburden and infections, modulate inflammation, and stimulate tissue regeneration without thermal damage.
